City show quality and resilience in challenging conditions

City put in an excellent display in very challenging conditions, with the boys applying themselves impeccably and producing some brilliant football throughout.

There were some lovely passages of play and several near misses, alongside five well-worked goals. The variety in the finishing stood out too, with goals coming from inside the box, outside the box, from a corner and from cut-backs.

The whole team contributed well, with strong energy from the start, good engagement from the substitutes on the side, and a positive response to feedback at half-time.

There was also praise for the way City built from the back with quality and confidence, and for the group’s determination to stay mentally strong from the first whistle.

The coaches highlighted Max’s performance, with his driving runs, communication and delivery into the box earning him the Coaches Award. He was also unfortunate not to score after a direct run that ended with a shot against the bottom of the post.

Goal scorers were Mark, David and Liam, with Mark and David both scoring twice.
